This website provides information about Brian Gilbertson AM, whose career in the performance industry spans in excess of 50 years. It also provides access to his advice on voice and performance well-being, and singing tips that have helped thousands of singers and voice teachers around the world with a different method to find their natural voices through a mindful state to deliver easier and next level singing. It was this approach that enabled Brian to move from rock singer to opera singer.
Since the year 2000, Brian has received thousands of messages of thanks, a small selection of which you can see on the testimonials page.
Brian's life as a singer changed dramatically when he worked intensively over a two year period in the mid 1980's with Maestro Franz Schuch-Tovini in Vienna. From humble beginnings.
Brian achieved significant success as a performer, director and producer and is very mindful of the many who have helped him along the way. He now enjoys sharing the knowledge that comes from his experience from rock to cabaret, jazz, musicals and twenty years as a principal operatic tenor. His message to all singers is clear and simple. Singing can be easy, if you know how!
In 2016 Brian returned to his Rock and Roll roots. Since then, his ADELAIDE FRINGE World Rock Arena and Sing Easy with Brian Gilbertson Vocal Workshops have sold out every year.
In 2021 Brian was recognised as a member in the General Division of the Order of Australia for his significant service to Festivals and Events, Opera, and Vocal Education.
In 2016 he was awarded a Star on the Adelaide Festival Centre Walk of Fame.
In 2010 Brian was named by the Adelaide Lord Mayor on Australia Day, as Citizen of the Year.
In 1999 during his "Reaching the World" concert tour as an Arts Ambassador for the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games, Brian gave voice masterclasses i several countries. The singers who attended his masterclasses were keen to learn more. On his return to Australia, he set up a free weekly singing tips website posting tips that responded to their many questions. Within months, many thousands were visiting the site and it organically became a first page site for singing and singing tips on Google for over 12 years.
Brian continues to perform and give voice masterclasses, workshops, and singing advice and mentorships in Australia and internationally.
