In 2020 and 2021 the Pageant was held at the Adelaide Oval, an significant undertaking with 2 months notice in the middle of the Covid 19 pandemic. It returned to the streets in 2022 in its 90th year.
1996 - 2019 Tanunda Lieder Tafel
In the show shed each year at the Tanunda Showgrounds. The acoustic is wonderful yet this event takes place in a tin shed with a shell grit floor warmed by an audience each year of 1000. It is a very special evening and Brian Gilbertson has managed to deliver some stunning acts for the event as director, MC and performer.
1996 - 2017 Carols by the Creek - Mitcham
The first Sunday of December each year at the Soldiers Memorial Gardens Mitcham. Prior to 1996 a small concert was held each year in the Soldiers Memorial Gardens attracting up to 200 local residents. At the request of the local Council Brian Gilbertson produced and directed a new Carols model and named the event "Carols by the Creek." Audiences grew rapidly to 4000 and the evening became an expected part of the local Christmas event calendar.
2004 and 2006 Canvas in Concert, Michael Murray Theatre.
For Wetlands & Wildlife in association with Westminster School Arts Department. Concept for and direction of concert starring international concert pianist David Helfgott with internationally renowned visual artist David Bromley on stage together. The audience is welcomed into the artist studio to see Bromley paint whilst listening to music. The music happens to be live performance. The production was repeated in 2006 once again with the two Davids. Artists also participating in 2004 were The Australian String Quartet, mezzo soprano Elizabeth Campbell, Brian Gilbertson, The Adelaide Chamber Singers and Thomas Edmonds. In 2006 we were joined by Johanna Allen, Kym Purling, Nick Parnell, Jenna Wong, the Tal- Kin - Jari Dance group and indigenous artist Barbara Weir.
At the end of each concert the artworks by David Bromley and Barbara Weir became part of the curtain call and were auctioned for charity.
2001 Opera in the Wetlands. Private event for Tom and Pat Brinkworth.
A Private Event in the South East of South Australia to celebrate the opening of the Watervalley Gorge. Headlining the concert were soprano Dame Malvina Major, New York tenor John Keys and Brian Gilbertson.
1999 Bundaleer Forest Concert Weekend,
Mid North of South Australia. Attracted an audience of 2500 to the main concert and 12,500 experienced the uniquely designed forest walks. This new artistic concept was devised by Brian to increase local attendances. He called them “sports/arts” performances. The event injected $750,000.00 into the mid north community over one weekend. The template for this event was created by Brian Gilbertson based on a community development model by Julie Sloan. The event successfully continued as a biannual event run by the community using the original template until 2013. In 2007 it was awarded a prestigious Ruby Award.
